SDS will be closed on October 16 & 17 for the MEA break. Enjoy your long weekend!
Yay! We cannot wait to get back into the classroom with all of our students 🙂
Registration for our Fall Session of tumbling, and our 2019-2020 season of dance is well underway, and before you know it, we will all be headed back to the studio! If you haven’t registered for your class, there is still time, but some classes fill fast.
Season #20 starts the week of September 23rd at SDS!
Hello! The snow is melting, I’ve heard birds singing in the morning, and that means SPRING IS COMING! The arrival of spring also means that it is a busy time at SDS. We are finishing up recital routines, our competition teams are at the height of their competition season, and dance recital pictures are coming!
Our studio is using Tom Lindstrom as our photographer; he will supply order forms the week of pictures. Recital photographs will be taken at the studio, and I have included a schedule for your review. Please be sure to note the hairstyle for your child’s class.
Dancers in a combination class (i.e. – tap & jazz), come in your TAP COSTUME FIRST. A photo of your chid’s costume can be found on the parent portal, so you know which one to come to the studio in first 😉
Light makeup should be worn for pictures. We suggest eyeshadow, blush, a light lipstick or gloss, and mascara for photos (recital makeup will be heavier, like stage makeup). Eyeshadow should be in a coordination color to your dancer’s costume. Boys do not need to wear makeup.
Tom Lindstrom will be photographing our dance students the week of April 29-May 2. Pictures take place in Studio B at the Dance Shoppe. The picture schedule will be posted by the end of March, but usually your dancer is scheduled close to their normal class time. We have found that this makes the picture time most convenient for parents <3 Tom will bring photo envelopes to the studio with him, and payment of pictures is due at the time photographs are taken. #saycheese #smileforthecamera
Thank you all that participated in our Toys For Tots program, and nursing home programs! Through our efforts, we brought over 550 toys to our community! Great job 🙂 Plus, the residents of Guardian Angels, in Hibbing, and Heritage Manor, in Chisholm, enjoyed our dancers talents earlier this week. A special thanks to Mr. Will Seykora, and the Northern Lights Choir for providing vocal entertainment at 2 of our 3 events. We truly enjoy being able to share our talented kids with the community!
Our summer tumbling session 2 is going to be starting soon! We offer classes for young beginners all the way up to advanced tumblers. Your child will love coming to each class, where he or she will be supported by our caring staff, yet challenged to learn new skills. Registration is happening now!
Looking for something to do this summer? Join one of our great camps and enjoy learning a new style of dance, or refresh your tumbling skills! Either way, it’s sure to be a hit! There are many classes to choose from, and dates to work around busy summer schedules.
Competition team requirements can be found in your parent portal class descriptions!
Next Monday our session 3 tumbling will start! Make sure your child doesn’t miss out and register today!
We can’t wait to see our dance and tumbling kids back in the studios on Monday January 15th! We hope you all enjoyed the Winter Break, and are ready for exciting classes in 2018 🙂
It’s nursing home performance week! Our classes will be performing at Guardian Angels in Hibbing, Heritage Manor in Chisholm, and St. Michael’s in Virginia. Our show times are:
Guardian Angels – Monday, December 18th @ 6pm
Heritage Manor – Tuesday, December 19th @ 6:30pm
St. Michaels – Thursday, December 21st @ 6:45pm
Students may arrive 15-20 minutes early to get their skirts on and get lined up for the performance. We are so excited to be bringing the gift of joy to our communities nursing homes!
